Summary

Following the launch of her #1 New York Times bestselling cookbook, Magnolia Table, and seeing her family’s own sacred dishes being served on other families’ tables across the country, Joanna Gaines gained a deeper commitment to the value of food being shared。 This insight inspired Joanna to get back in the kitchen and start from scratch, pushing herself beyond her comfort zone to develop new recipes for her family, and yours, to gather around。

Magnolia Table, Volume 2 is filled with 145 new recipes from her own home that she shares with husband Chip and their five kids, and from the couple’s restaurant Magnolia Table, Silos Baking Co, and new coffee shop, Magnolia Press。 From breakfast to dinner, plus breads, soups, and sides, Magnolia Table, Volume 2 gives readers abundant reasons to gather together。

The book is beautifully photographed and filled with dishes you’ll want to bring into your own home, including: Mushroom-Gruyére Quiche, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bread, Grilled Bruschetta Chicken, Zucchini-Squash Strata, Chicken-Pecan-Asparagus Casserole, Stuffed Pork Loin, Lemon-Lavender Tart, and Magnolia Press Chocolate Cake。

Fantastic! I am a fan of both of Joanna Gaines cookbooks。 I've made multiple recipes and all were winners。 This one was just as good as the first cookbook。 Highly recommend。My Rating: Excellent! This didn't feel like a stand out book or anything that I can't find elsewhere。 Also, there are no nutritional breakdowns which many people count on when meal planning。 On the positive side, the book is organized well and has a nice flow to it。 This didn't feel like a stand out book or anything that I can't find elsewhere。 Also, there are no nutritional breakdowns which many people count on when meal planning。 On the positive side, the book is organized well and has a nice flow to it。 。。。more

Seen it all before。。。。

Containing more complex recipes than volume 1 I must say that I am still very happy with this book。 I have not yet made any bread with her recipes, but I feel as though if I can get more proficiency in cooking and baking I will feel very comfortable adding more of these recipes into my weekly repetoire。

This was phenomenal! Absolutely adding to my cookbook collection。 So good!

Vicki

Good solid cookbook, I especially like the breakfast and baked goods sections。

This would be the PERFECT cookbook to get someone starting out on their own。 She's got such a great range of recipes that cover all the basics, but do still include some more challenging options (like making your own tortillas or pasta)。 Definitely can't wait to try some of her cooking。 This would be the PERFECT cookbook to get someone starting out on their own。 She's got such a great range of recipes that cover all the basics, but do still include some more challenging options (like making your own tortillas or pasta)。 Definitely can't wait to try some of her cooking。 。。。more

This is a nice collection of recipes and has the benefit of Joanna Gaines's voice and story telling, but none of the dishes are groundbreaking or very new。 This is a nice collection of recipes and has the benefit of Joanna Gaines's voice and story telling, but none of the dishes are groundbreaking or very new。 。。。more

Like the first, this is a pretty book。 It’ll look nice on your shelf but, like the first, it’s very uninspired and has nothing I can’t think of myself。

I want to hate these cookbooks, but dang, they get me。 If you were raised in the south/midwest, your mother and grandmother inevitably had a collection of often-used cookbooks put together by the WMU or Junior Social League that included delicious (sometimes questionable) recipes that were focused on making people happy versus whittling your waistline。 These feel just like that and the recipes are solid。

Easy, family friendly meals。

Great staple recipes but some are just things we would never eat。 Overall though a beautiful collection of recipes

I really like Joanna Gaines style and cookbooks。 I have her first one and like this one b/c it has recipes that are a little different to try。 Nicely, made Book with clear directions and pictures。

Tamara

Love the recipes and the stories。

Yes, I did read the second volume before the first to fulfill a reading challenge。 Do not read this while hungry。 Joanna is a little extra in the chillest way but we love her anyway。

I actually liked this better than Joanna's first Magnolia Table cookbook。 The first one had many recipes I just can't use, due to food sensitivities in the family (just can't used spicy ingredients)。 This one is a beautiful book (as was the first), but the recipes cast a wider net and I think most folks will find several they love。 The only caveat: the recipe for whipped cream for the tops of some of the pies/cakes makes A TON, so be prepared to have lots left over!! This book is not as good as the first。 There wasn’t anything specifically Magnolia about most of it - you didn’t get much feel for the Gaines’ family personalities。 I would have expected a book this thoughtfully designed to have a photo for every recipe - I was wrong。 The best chapter - by a lot - is soups and salads。 You get a feel for Joanna’s personality there and some of the recipes are more unique。There is some good general information here, like making your own spice blends and a chapter o This book is not as good as the first。 There wasn’t anything specifically Magnolia about most of it - you didn’t get much feel for the Gaines’ family personalities。 I would have expected a book this thoughtfully designed to have a photo for every recipe - I was wrong。 The best chapter - by a lot - is soups and salads。 You get a feel for Joanna’s personality there and some of the recipes are more unique。There is some good general information here, like making your own spice blends and a chapter on bread and crust from scratch。 But unless you’re a big Magnolia fan, you could skip this。 。。。more

I enjoyed the recipes and the photos。 She is an excellent writer too。

We don’t have the first cookbook, so I cannot compare this one to it, but all of these pictures are beautiful and the cookie recipe in this cookbook is really good!

Alice

No caloric informationValue of book for fans would be the personal information about Joanne。 Nothing special about recipes or types of recipes given。

Annick

Okay。 I don't use many of the ingredients that feature in the recipes。 I made one recipe then gave the book away。 Okay。 I don't use many of the ingredients that feature in the recipes。 I made one recipe then gave the book away。 。。。more
